Exchange Program

 

  1. Eligibility criteria

    • Full-time students enrolled at universities which have established a formal student exchange agreement with Beihang University. Please consult the international office of your university to find out if there is a student exchange agreement signed with us.

    • Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme at their home university during their stay at Beihang.

    • Students must have a good academic record.

    • Students must have sufficient English or Chinese language skills.

    • Only applications made to Beihang through students' home universities will be accepted.  

 

  1. Academic programmes
    As one of the first universities in China to offer postgraduate programmes in English for international students, Beihang University offers a total of 63 doctoral programmes, 144 master’s programmes and 61 bachelor programmes.

  2. Chinese Language Courses
       All exchange students can enroll in a free Chinese language course for 4 hours a week or apply for a Chinese course of up to 20 hours per week for which the registration fee will be charged. Application takes place on arrival. The course is part time and designed to be taken parallel with your regular studies. Students are expected to get 2 credits for the Chinese courses.

Before the deadlines, the home university should send a recommendation list (xls.format), the students' ID photo (jpeg. format) and a single PDF file containing the other application documents to international@buaa.edu.cn. Nohard copy is required. Please kindly note that late applications will not bec onsidered.

  1. Academic Calendar - 2015/2016 academic year

    • Fall Semester: September 16, 2015 to January 24, 2016.

    • Spring Semester: March 3, 2016 to July 3, 2016.

 

  1. Expenses

    • Tuition fees are to be paid by exchange students to home university only.

    • Exchange students should cover their own expenses as follows: travel, accommodation, food, books and teaching materials, insurance and other associated costs.

    • Students will be required to register for Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China on arrival. The cost is 400 RMB/6 months.  

 

  1. Accommodation

Studentscan apply for on-campus housing by filling in theApplication Form for International Student Dormitory (as attached). The formmust be sent to dormitory@buaa.edu.cn as soonas the student receives a Letter of Admission for their exchange study fromBeihang University.

  1. Registration
       The admitted students should bring their Passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China and apply for a student visa.
       The students shall come to International School of Beihang University for registration before the deadline indicated on the Admission Notice, and apply for a Residence Permit (for X1 visa holders) within 30 days after arriving in China.
