Behang University Hosts the International Graduate Summer School in Aeronautics and Astronautics

The International Graduate Summer School in Aeronautics and Astronautics (IGSS 2015) was held at Beihang University from July 15 to July 22, attracting 119 students from 26 countries.

On the closing ceremony of the IGSS 2015 on July 21, Director of the Division of Comprehensive Management of Graduate School, Beihang University, Mr. LEI Xiaofeng gave his congratulations and thanks to the participants of IGSS 2015. He hoped the event could play a greater role in connecting students within and outside the Beihang campus.

Mr. Nicholas Holgate from Cambridge University who participated in the IGSS 2015 shared his experience during the event after the awarding session of the ceremony.

The IGSS is aimed at stimulating students’ creative thinking and promoting academic exchange between graduate students from China and other countriesin science and technology frontiers of aeronautics and astronautics. The IGSS 2015 program includes academic lectures given by senior academics from Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR, Boeing Company, Rutgers University, student presentations, workshops, lab visits to National Key Laboratory of CNS/ATM,National Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems, Water Tunnel Lab, etc. and academic competition in Aerospace. The program also includes cultural visits to the China Aviation Museum, the Forbidden city and Summer Place. The networking parties organized by the organizing committee during the event have strengthened the friendship among the participants.
