Abstract:

It is a series of lectures on nonlinear systems, a cutting-edge subject in the field of structural vibration, and provides information of the status quo and trends of this field.

The topics involved are as follows: definition and recognition method of nonlinear systems, Forced response calculation for linear and nonlinear systems, chaotic phenomena of multiple-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) systems, application of harmonic balance and describing function in response calculation for nonlinear systems, application of describing function in nonlinear system recognition, introduction to MIMO and MISO linear systems, related functions and multiple correlation analysis, reverse path and related methods, application of reverse path in nonlinear system recognition, comparison between reverse path and describing function, inverse describing function, nonlinear MATLAB toolbox and experimental apparatus.                              

 

Introduction of the speaker:

Prof. Kjell Arne Ahlin is the chair of the TC104 subcommittee of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Now a full-time professor at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (BTH), he has worked as professor and consultant for many universities and businesses. His main research interest is structural vibration technology, and he is an internationally known expert in this field.
