The Research Base of Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Center is set up to meet the needs of national strategy and the development of Beijing as the capital city of China. With the goal to provide the theory foundation, intelligence support and decision reference of the development of the capital, it examines the evolvement law of international science and technology innovation centers and concentrates on the existing problems limiting the construction of science and technology innovation centers in Beijing. Besides, it focuses on three key processes including policy-making, mechanism design and talents guarantee, carrying out countermeasure research and basic theory research.
Professor Zhang Jun, former Secretary of the Party committee at Beihang University and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the chief expert of the base. Professor Long Weiqiu, Dean of Law School at Beihang University and an awardee of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, works as the director of the base. Its main cooperators include Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology; Stanford University, Toronto University, Free University of Brussels, etc.
