On the afternoon of March 21, the signing ceremony for the construction of Beihang-Haidian District artificial intelligence industry hub was held at Ruxin Conference Center, Beihang University.
Those attending the ceremony included Zhang Ge, Secretary of the Haidian District Party Committee; Li Junjie, Deputy Secretary of the Haidian District Party Committee and District Mayor; Yang Renquan, Deputy Secretary of the Haidian District Party Committee; Xiao Dan, member of the Standing Committee of Haidian District Party Committe and Minister of the Organization Department; Cheng Peiheng, member of the Standing Committee of Haidian District Party Committe, Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, and Director of the Party Committee Office; Zhao Changlu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beihang University; Wang Yunpeng, President of Beihang University; Cheng Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beihang University; Lyu Jinhu, Vice President of Beihang University; and Deng Yi, Vice President of Beihang University. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Yunpeng.
During the discussion session, Zhao Changlu extended a warm welcome to the officials of Haidian District and expressed his heartfelt thanks to Haidian District for its strong support for the construction and development of Beihang University over these years. He said that Beihang has always adhered to the integrated deployment of education, science and technology, and talents, actively distributed disciplines related to artificial intelligence, conducted meticulous planning on the artificial intelligence region on campus, and has done a brilliant job in cultivating top-notch innovative talents and transforming sci-tech achievements, contributing ideas and efforts to the economic and social development in the region. He wished that the two sides will take this signing as an opportunity to fully integrate innovation resources and elements, promote the combination between the university's discipline construction and the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Haidian District, boost the integrated cross-discipline development of the university's artificial intelligence, computer, and software majors, and jointly create a new paradigm for the development of artificial intelligence industry cluster, providing strong support for the construction of a "double first-class" university and high-quality development of Haidian District.
Zhang Ge thanked Beihang for its support for the economic and social development of Haidian District. He said that Haidian District will take the initiative to shoulder the responsibility and duty endowed by the state and the capital, focus on the core elements of the development of the artificial intelligence industry, improve the sci-tech innovation ecosystem, coordinate resources in education, science and technology, talent and other aspects, and create a global artificial intelligence innovation and industrial development hub. He noted that Beihang has made important contributions to the national aerospace industry and regional economic and social development, and Haidian District will provide the best services to support the construction of a "double first-class" university. It is hoped that Beihang can give full play to its advantages, work closely with Haidian District in the integration of science and education, personnel training, and humanistic environment construction, promote the transformation of scientific research outcomes, accelerate the agglomerated development of artificial intelligence industry, and contribute to the national innovation-driven development strategy.
Wang Yunpeng said that the signing between the People's Government of Haidian District and Beihang marks an important step for the two sides to further deepen cooperation, enhance the development of artificial intelligence disciplines in Beihang, and assist Haidian District in promoting the upgrade of intelligent industry and economic development. He hoped that the two sides will take this signing as an opportunity to further exert their advantages and carry out more in-depth and pragmatic cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, industrial agglomeration, personnel cultivation and exchanges, and the construction of humanistic environment, so as to jointly promote the construction of Haidian District artificial intelligence industry hub and Haidian District new quality productivity demonstration area, contributing to the high-quality development of the capital in the new era and the new ecology of artificial intelligence in Haidian District.
Li Junjie and Wang Yunpeng signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides.
According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out cooperation in promoting the integrated development of science and education, enhancing industrial agglomeration, deepening personnel training and exchanges, and optimizing the construction of humanistic environment. They will jointly promote the construction of Haidian District artificial intelligence industry hub and Haidian District new quality productivity demonstration area, and contribute to the high-quality development of the capital in the new era.
