Thematic Exhibition of Today’s Beihang
This exhibition area is designed to show Beihang’s top research level to the public through exhibits of aeronautic designs, aero engines and avionics. The area takes the shape of a complete plane, and the inside of a plane’s nose, cabin and fuselage is shown in the corresponding parts of this “plane”. The floor is decorated with stripes to provide a sense of speed.
This area has many precious exhibits, such as dissected fuselages, wings, landing gear, engines, airborne equipment and so on. It combines real objects with dynamic demonstrations and serves as an important teaching base for core courses related to aircraft design.

This exhibition area has two parts: Beihang Planes and Exhibition of Real Planes.
As the core of this area, the Beihang Planes section is aimed at illustrating the great contributions made by Beihang to China’s aviation cause. Situated at the entrance of this exhibition area, this section presents a collection of real planes designed and made by Beihang, such as Beijing 1, a light passenger airliner developed by Beihang faculty and students in 1958.
Other real planes on display in this area include the Northrop P-61 Black Widow, the Harrier, etc. Different parts of this area feature different space design, forming a changing continuum that represents the development of aircraft.

This exhibition area consists of two parts: History of Aeronautics and History of Astronautics. Introducing the historical development in the field of aerospace, it shows the milestones through models suspended from the ceiling and matching multimedia showcases on the floor.

This exhibition area comprises five parts: Rockets and Missiles, Satellites and Probes, Manned Spaceflight, Interaction Area of Aerospace, and Student Projects.
Adopting the theme of spaceflight, this area is designed as a sci-fi space test base. The space gives visitors a spatial and temporal illusion and a sense of immersion created by the space-themed background picture, the dark ceiling, and the facade made of grey metal materials that provide a sense of coldness and represent reason and science.
