Introduction to the Baiyan X Forum
In response to the national call for “focusing on basic scientific fields that may produce revolutionary technologies in the future, strengthening major original research and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research”, and “accelerating the construction of world-class talent centers and innovation highlands”, an international innovative exchange platform has been established to connect global cutting-edge disciplines and interdisciplinary fields. This platform aims to gather global intellectual resources, nurture high-end talents, incubate emerging interdisciplinary directions, cultivate new growth points in disciplines, create a vibrant atmosphere for interdisciplinary scientific research, inspire new ideas for scientific research, and support national strategic needs. The International Research Institute for Multidisciplinary Science of Beihang University, together with the Department of Human Resources, the Research Institute, the Graduate School, the International Division, and the Planning and Financial Department, jointly organize the Baiyan X Forum series of activities.
Aerospace equipment is a frontier and key area in the development strategies of all countries in the world. Its technological level is not only closely related to national defense and security construction but also inseparable from the national economy and social development. All countries in the world regard promoting digitization and intelligence as important driving forces for innovation and the development of aerospace equipment. However, there are still many theoretical and technological shortcomings in the current digital research and development paradigm, digital testing, and digital operation and maintenance of aerospace equipment. The potential and value of digital technology in aerospace equipment have not been fully explored. The Baiyan X Forum will bring together experts and scholars from relevant research institutes in Sweden, France, and China to exchange and share cutting-edge theories and technologies in aerospace equipment digital engineering (such as digital twin engines), promote interdisciplinary integration, enhance innovation vitality, and promote high-quality development of China’s aerospace equipment.
