In 2013, the research article titled “Temperature Controlled Water/Oil Wettability of a Surface Fabricated by a Block Copolymer: Application as a Dual Water/Oil On–Off Switch” was published in Advanced Materials. The research achieves a temperature controlled dual water/oil on–off switch. In this switch system, water can permeate through the block-copolymer coated mesh, and oil cannot below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), whereas oil can and water cannot above the LCST.
