Based at Beihang University, the Research Center for Capital Higher Education Development is approved by the Education Commission of Beijing and the Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science in December 2015. The present director of the center is Professor Lei Qing, and the chief expert is Professor Zheng Xiaoqi.
The main research directions of the center are:
(a) Regional development of higher education;
(b) Engineering education;
(c) Academic degrees and graduate education;
(d) Higher education evaluation and quality assurance.
In the recent five years, researchers have undertaken 129 scientific research projects of various kinds, including 10 national fund projects and 83 provincial fund and government commissioned projects. The scientific research achievements of this base are beneficial for promoting the development of higher education not only in Beijing but also across the country.
