Feng Peide (1941.4—) is a professor and PhD supervisor in the School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering of Beihang University and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (elected in 2001).
Prof. Feng received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Mathematic Mechanics (now known as the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science) of Peking University in 1963 and his master’s degree from the Department of Automatic Control of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 1967, he joined Xi'an Flight Automatic Control Research Institute (FACRI). From 1981 to 1983, he studied in the United States. From 1984 to 2001, he was the director of FACRI. Currently, he is the deputy director of the research committee of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
He has long been the chief designer of aeronautic inertial navigation system in China and led several relevant research and development projects. He is also a member of the Expert Committee of the National Large Aircraft Project.
He has won a grand prize and a second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, a third prize of the State Technological Invention Award and a dozen ministry-level prizes.
