Jiang Chengbao

Jiang Chengbao (1968—) is a professor and PhD supervisor as well as Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beihang University. He was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2009, and elected as a distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program in 2011.

Prof. Jiang received his doctor’s degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 1996. He has been studying magnetostrictive materials, rare earth permanent magnet materials and magnetic shape memory alloys. His publications include more than 90 papers in journals listed in the Science Citation Index. He has been invited to give speeches at international conferences for more than ten times and obtained 20 patents. He also won a first prize of the State Technological Invention Award and other national, provincial or ministry-level prizes. He was a visiting scholar at Trinity College Dublin of the University of Dublin and a senior research fellow at the University of Birmingham. Currently, he holds positions at the Chinese Society of Rare Earths, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, etc. He is also a member of Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Rare Metals and Chinese Rare Earths.
