On January 10, the 2024 New Year Reception for International Cooperation was held at the Vision International Cultural Exchange Center, Beijing. Beihang President Wang Yunpeng, Vice Presidents Huang Haijun, Lyu Weifeng, and Zhao Weisheng, members of the China-Europe Cooperation Committee of Beihang University, representatives of foreign experts and scholars, representatives of students and international students from the "Yuanhang Program", as well as leaders, personnel, and partner representatives from relevant units such as the International Cooperation Department and the Civil-Military Integration Promotion Department of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, China National Space Administration, and the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization, gathered together to celebrate the New Year.
The reception kicked off with the short film "2023 Beihang Global Campus", which records the development of Beihang in international cooperation over the past year. Beihang has continuously deepened the "UPS internationalization development strategy", created the "Global Beihang", adhered to open education, actively explored international partnerships, and driven China-Europe international cooperation through China-French education cooperation. The Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang has been fully put into use, and a high-quality development action plan for international cooperation has been introduced. Beihang has insisted on "Going Global and Bringing In", accelerated the resumption of teacher-student exchanges, and international students have returned to campus.
Wang Yunpeng delivered a welcome speech. He first extended New Year greetings to the participants, and stated that in 2023, Beihang adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, deeply implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promoted education, science and technology, and talent work in an integrated manner, and rapidly and steadily carried out the comprehensive reform. The development of various undertakings of Beihang has improved in quality and efficiency with fruitful results. In 2024, Beihang will uphold the international cooperation concept of "innovation, inclusiveness, and cooperation", continue to deepen the "Global Beihang" strategy, accelerate the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, and make greater contributions to building China into an education powerhouse.
Following that, Wang Yunpeng presented New Year's gifts to representatives. Li Guoping, Chief Engineer of the China National Space Administration, Du Xiaoyan, Primary Inspector of the International Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and representatives of Chinese and foreign teachers and students from the Ecole Centrale de Pékin and the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering of Beihang University all sent New Year greetings.
Students from Beihang Chinese Orchestra and representatives of both domestic and foreign students performed traditional Chinese music "Horse Racing", dance "Global Rhythm", and choir "Heal the World", bringing the reception a lively and joyful New Year atmosphere.
