On the afternoon of May 27, Mina Zirojević, Assistant Minister of Education of Serbia, visited Beihang University along with representatives from the University of Belgrade and the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia. Beihang Vice President Zhao Weisheng, Academician Zhao Qinping, and relevant leaders from the International Relations Department, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, and the State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems received guests in the Lecture Hall of Ruxin Conference Centre.
During their visit, the State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems of Beihang University donated the virtual dental simulation training system to the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Belgrade.
Zhao Weisheng extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed Beihang’s overall situation in talent cultivation, scientific research, social service and global cooperation in recent years. He further pointed out that President Xi Jinping has just paid a state visit to Serbia, proposing to increase bilateral cooperation in education, sports, culture, tourism and other areas to create more opportunities for the young generation as well as to carry forward the China-Serbia friendship. Beihang attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Serbia, and hopes to take the visit as an opportunity to vigorously promote exchanges and mutual trust between the two sides and strengthen high-level practical cooperation in areas of virtual reality and medical industry.
Zirojević appreciated Beihang’s warm reception, and expressed her heartfelt thanks to Beihang’s donation of the virtual dental simulation training system to the University of Belgrade as well as Beihang’s continuous efforts to promote higher education exchanges and cooperation between China and Serbia. She furthered that China and Serbia have nurtured a profound friendship in advancing the Belt and Road cooperation and China-CEEC cooperation. During President Xi’s state visit to Serbia, the two sides reaches a consensus to deepen and enhance the China-Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership.
At the meeting, Wang Yunhong, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering of Beihang University, and Alexa Markovic, Dean of the School of Dentistry of the University of Belgrade, delivered speeches respectively.
During the tour, the Serbian delegation also had an in-depth discussion with the School of Computer Science and Engineering on further cooperation, and paid a visit to the State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems.
