On August 27, 4,378 freshmen registered on Xueyuan Road and Shahe campuses in Beijing and the international campus in Hangzhou, getting ready to open a brand-new chapter of their life at Beihang University.
Beihang Secretary of the Party Committee Zhao Changlu, President Wang Yunpeng, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection Liu Hongcang, Vice Presidents Zhao Weisheng and Deng Yi greeted freshmen and volunteers in person and expressed their warm welcome.
On Shahe Campus, Zhao Changlu visited the West Student Dormitory, expressing concern for students' living conditions. “Congratulations on successfully completing the college entrance examination and entering Beihang University!” Zhao presented a birthday meal voucher to students who celebrated their birthday on that day and gave care packages to students who used the Green Channel. He encouraged the students to quickly adapt to the university life and make good use of the university’s collaborative innovation platforms in science and education to improve themselves.
On Xueyuan Road Campus, Wang Yunpeng visited the apartment building of the new students, inquiring about their preparations for the new semester. “Welcome to Beihang University for an exciting college life,” Wang Yunpeng wrote a message on a folding fan, a gift for the new students, hoping that they would fully utilize various high-quality resources at Beihang, study diligently, participate in the diverse activities, improve their self-learning abilities and establish correct values.
At the orientation sites, various service windows were set up for tuition payment, Green Channel services, and other procedures, providing students with one-stop services for post-enrollment tasks. The quick collection of identity and facial information, activation of bank cards, and convenient distribution of materials were carried out efficiently and orderly.
Beihang University also organized volunteers to provide pick-up services at major train stations in Beijing and Hangzhou, ensuring a smooth transition for new students. At the Hangzhou International Campus, the robot dogs and smart vehicles developed by Beihang research teams added a convenient and cool experience to the enrollment process. The university also organized a special parent orientation and a meeting for new students’ parents, offering a comprehensive introduction to the university and empowering parents in supporting the healthy growth of their children.
From now on, the 2024 freshmen will embark on a new journey at Beihang University. Wish their dreams come true!
