On the morning of September 19, a delegation led by Boh Wai Fong, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), visited Beihang University. Zhao Weisheng, Vice President of Beihang University, met the guests at the lecture hall of Ruxin Conference Center. Heads of relevant departments attended the meeting.
Zhao Weisheng extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He gave a detailed introduction to the university from the aspects of talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation, especially the development of advantageous disciplines such as aerospace, materials science and automation. He pointed out that Beihang University and NTU have a good foundation for cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation, and maintain close cooperation in areas such as student exchanges, teacher visits and scientific research. He noted that the two universities enjoy complementary advantages and have huge potential for cooperation. It is hoped that through this visit, the two sides can further deepen the cooperation foundation, expand cooperation fields, and establish cooperation projects to enhance the partnership.
Boh Wai Fong expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Beihang University. She provided a comprehensive overview of NTU’s talent cultivation and international cooperation. She emphasized that NTU has always been committed to promoting the internationalization of education and teaching, and is very willing to cooperate with Beihang University in fields such as postgraduate cultivation. She looked forward to jointly exploring a new model of international talent cultivation with Beihang University and cultivating future leaders with international vision and innovative spirit.
Following that, representatives from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering introduced the basic situation and international exchanges and cooperation of their schools respectively, and conducted discussions on carrying out exchanges and cooperation in relevant disciplines. During the meeting, the two sides had thorough discussions and reached consensus on topics such as student exchanges and joint undergraduate and postgraduate training.
After the meeting, Boh Wai Fong gave a report entitled “Higher Education in Singapore and Master’s Program of NTU,” which received a warm response.
