About the Troupe:
Founded in 2017, the Beihang Student Traditional Chinese Folk Arts Troupe provides a platform for students to appreciate, learn, and perform traditional Chinese folk and operatic arts, enriching the cultural atmosphere on campus. The troupe's repertoire encompasses a wide range of genres, including xiangsheng (crosstalk), kuaiban (rhythmic storytelling), shuanghuang (comedic duo performance), Peking opera, Henan opera, danxian (monochord ballad), and jingyun dagu (drum ballad). The troupe regularly organizes dedicated folk arts performances and has participated in the university's graduation gala for many consecutive years.
As a core member of the Beijing College Crosstalk Alliance, the troupe has gained recognition beyond campus, with members appearing on programs broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV), Beijing Television, and Tianjin Television. They have also earned accolades in prestigious competitions such as the "Maji Cup" and the "Guoxi Cup."
