Beihang University emphasizes "Four Orientations", adheres to the “Four Big” mode of “organizing big teams, building big platforms, undertaking big projects and making big contributions”, builds first-class innovation platforms and research bases, and comprehensively enhances its technological innovation capabilities. It is in charge of the construction of two national laboratories as deputy director unit, and has participated in the construction of six national laboratories. The university has been granted permission to construct a major national scientific and technological infrastructure. It has led the construction of five national key laboratories, and co-constructed another five national key laboratories. It also has 12 national-level scientific and technological innovation bases, four Beijing advanced innovation centers, and 87 provincial and ministerial key laboratories. Together, it has formed a laboratory system with Beihang University’s own features, which is led by national laboratories and scientific apparatus, with national platforms at its core, provincial and ministerial platforms as foundation, and university-level scientific and educational collaborative platforms as support, achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement.
