The General Alumni Association of Beihang University was founded in October 1985. It is a national first-class community with a legal personality approved by and registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs in May 1993 (Registration Certificate: Association Certificate No. 4387). The current chairman is Academician Xu Huibin, President of Beihang University.

By the end of 2017, the association has developed 51 regional member units domestically, 21 regional member units overseas and 12 industry associations, covering almost 200,000 alumni. The missions of the association will focus on carrying forward the fine tradition and study style of the alma mater, including but not limited to the following:

- extensive contact with alumni at home and abroad;

- strengthening the cohesion of the alumni;

- organizing Alumni Association activities;

- enhancing the alumni’s understanding of the alma mater;

- promoting the communication between the alumni and the alma mater in teaching, social service, academic research, etc.;

- energetically publicizing the development and change of the alma mater;

- actively serving alumni and encouraging alumni to succeed in their careers;

-contributing to the prosperity and development of the alma mater as well as our nation.
