The "Three Hills and Five Gardens" refers to the cluster of imperial gardens stretching from the Western Hills to the Wanquan River in the western suburbs of Haidian District, Beijing. Nalan Xingde stands as one of the most notable historical figures associated with this cultural landscape.
Born in a powerful Manchu family, Nalan Xingde was famed for his ci poetry in the early Qing Dynasty. Based on his life story, Haidian District created the original dance drama "First Sight Forever," which will be staged at Beihang University from October 21 to 22.
