About the Exhibition:

At the start of this semester, a themed painting exhibition has been specially curated at the new library on the Shahe campus. This exhibition features 60 delightful and engaging paintings, all selected from the picture book Comic Chinese Helicopter created by Professor Gong Haoqin's team. Professor Gong's team has pioneered the use of AI painting technology to transform the development history of Chinese helicopters into a series of vivid and adorable cartoon images, recreating many significant scenes in the history of helicopter development. These seemingly light-hearted comics not only incorporate rigorous aviation science and technology historical materials, but also rely on complex AI generation technology to achieve an organic integration of science popularization and professional knowledge through in-depth learning and reproduction of helicopter structural features and aerodynamic principles, which makes it both engaging and professionally informative.

As a gift to the new students, we have specially chosen this exhibition to kick off your journey at Beihang, showcasing the unique charm of the fusion between technology and art. We hope that amidst a pleasant and relaxed artistic atmosphere, students can learn about the tumultuous yet glorious development history of China's helicopter industry and feel the spirit of“Serving the Nation through Aerospace Endeavors”that has been passed down through generations of aviation professionals. We hope that students can draw inspiration from this exhibition, both grounding themselves in honing their scientific research abilities and always remembering their original aspiration and mission to serve the country in aerospace.
