Recently, a humanoid robot developed by faculty and students of Beihang University made its debut on campus, captivating onlookers with its steady, fluid gait and advanced dynamic balancing capabilities.

The robot is an effort of interdisciplinary collaboration among several key institutions at Beihang University, including the Engineering Practice and Innovation Center (EPIC), the Institute of Embodied Intelligence Robotics, the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation.
A standout feature of the project was the involvement of Aubo Intelligent, which supported the production of critical components, such as the robot’s arm joint connectors, through EPIC’s state-of-the-art “Smart Manufacturing Factory” production line.
This achievement underscores Beihang University’s commitment to integrating teaching practices with industrial needs, aiming to create a closed-loop ecosystem that seamlessly connects education, innovation, and industry. The “Smart Manufacturing Factory” serves as a vital platform for nurturing engineering talent, equipping students with practical skills and innovative thinking essential for modern technological challenges.
The debut of the humanoid robot not only highlights Beihang University’s cutting-edge research and development capabilities but also demonstrates its dedication to advancing robotics and intelligent manufacturing technologies. By bridging the gap between academic research and industrial applications, Beihang continues to contribute to the cultivation of high-quality engineering talent and the transformation of scientific achievements into real-world solutions.
