Rector of UNICAMP visits Beihang University

On the afternoon of September 10, a ten-member delegation led by Paulo Cesar Montagner, Rector of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), visited Beihang University. Vice President Zhao Weisheng met with the guests in the conference room of Hall 1, accompanied by leaders from the International Relations Department, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, and other relevant units.

Vice President Zhao extended a warm welcome to Rector Montagner and his delegation, and highlighted Beihang's recent achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, and global cooperation—particularly with Brazilian partners. He noted that Rector Montagner's visit is of great significance in enhancing collaboration between the two universities and deepening Beihang's multi-faceted strategic cooperation with Brazilian institutions. He expressed Beihang's willingness to work closely with UNICAMP to promote cooperation in biomedical engineering, information technology, green energy, and other fields, leveraging platforms such as the Confucius Institute and the Beihang Innovation Institute in Brazil to strengthen scientific and people-to-people exchanges.

Rector Montagner expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted that UNICAMP is one of Brazil's most active universities in cooperation with China. The university places high importance on collaboration with Chinese universities and enterprises, and has recently established a research center in China. He also acknowledged the strong alignment between Beihang's international vision—characterized by inclusiveness, innovation, and collaboration—and UNICAMP's development strategy. He looked forward to deeper cooperation in scientific research, joint student training, and sports and cultural exchanges between the two universities.

Following the meeting, Vice President Zhao and Rector Montagner signed a student exchange agreement on behalf of the two universities.

During their visit, the delegation also toured the Center for Micro-Nano Innovation of Beihang (Beihang Nano).
