Recently, the winners of the 1st Beijing College Students' AI+ Innovation Competition were announced. All five participating teams from Beihang University were honored with awards, securing four first prizes and one second prize, thus earning Beihang the most first prizes among Beijing's universities.

The on-campus preliminary selection was organized by the School of Artificial Intelligence. After fierce competition, five teams were selected to represent Beihang in the municipal contest, where they successfully distinguished themselves. Whether in creative contests for AI-empowered cultural innovation or in applied scenarios such as AI diagnosis of medical imaging, intelligent classification of remote sensing images, and large-model-driven talent supply-demand matching, Beihang students put forward concrete solutions by virtue of their solid theoretical foundations and outstanding engineering capabilities.

Finally, four projects won first prizes, including "Skyeye Tracking: A Robust Image Classification System for Complex Environments" from the School of Artificial Intelligence, "A Lightweight DR Grading and Risk Alert Model for Fundus Screening" from the School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering and the School of Engineering Medicine, "Intangible Cultural Heritage Aesthetic Fingerprint Mapping System" from the School of Reliability and Systems Engineering, and "A Quantitative Talent-Matching Evaluation System Based on Competency Network Analysis" from the School of Economics and Management. "JingCai AdaptLink: Large Model Analysis of Job Demand and Policy Trends" from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences won the second prize.

The competition was hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, organized by Beijing University of Technology, and co-organized by China Telecom Beijing Branch. Focused on the cutting-edge development of artificial intelligence in the new era and the strategic needs of the capital, it aims to deepen the integration of industry and education, as well as the fusion of science with education. The competition featured three main sections: the "Core AI Breakthrough Challenge," the "Industry-AI Integration Application Contest," and the "Meta-Innovation Pioneering Creative Contest," which comprehensively tested students' integrated capabilities from basic algorithms to engineering implementation. Leading enterprises such as China Telecom, JD Technology, and Megvii were invited to design competition topics, directly targeting industrial technological challenges and real-world application scenarios.

The competition attracted approximately 11,000 Beijing college students, covering all "985 Project" universities in the capital. It showcased the phased achievements of Beijing-based universities in AI general education reform, interdisciplinary development, and cutting-edge scientific exploration, as well as the latest practices of partner enterprises in AI technology implementation, product innovation, and industry empowerment. Through high-level competition and practice, the event deeply empowered the cultivation of innovative talent, further deepened the integration of industry with education and fusion of science with education, and contributed educational strength and youthful wisdom to the construction of Beijing as an international innovation hub and to the national AI development strategy.
