To fully implement the "UPS" international strategy of Beihang and advance the development of "Global Beihang," Vice President Yan Xiaojun led a delegation to the United Arab Emirates for a working visit from February 4 to 5, 2026.
In Dubai, the delegation attended the 2026 World Governments Summit and participated in the Global Universities Roundtable co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates University. On behalf of the university, Yan Xiaojun delivered a keynote report titled "Talent, Inclusion, and Social Impact," elaborating on the university's international development strategy: first, advancing the integration of industry and education, strengthening the cultivation of outstanding engineers, and deepening the talent training model for practical innovation; second, expanding international education initiatives, leveraging the Hangzhou International Campus to build a new highland for international cooperation; and third, deepening the integrated development of education, science, technology, and talent, and focusing on key regions and countries to establish an integrated international platform.

In Abu Dhabi, the delegation visited Khalifa University (KU), where they met with Vice President Mohamed Marzooq Al Shehhi and held in-depth exchanges with Associate Provost Mahmoud Al Qutayri and other relevant representatives. During the meeting, Yan Xiaojun reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and shared prospects for future collaboration. Both sides conducted discussions focused on advantageous fields such as aerospace, computer science, and general technology. They reached broad consensus on establishing an inter-university partnership and promoting the joint training of high-level international talent.

This visit was an important step in deeply implementing the "UPS" international strategy, mapping out a new blueprint for international cooperation, and advancing the development of "Global Beihang." It further enhanced the university's international influence, deepened practical cooperation with universities in the UAE, and opened a new chapter in the integrated and coordinated development of education, science, technology, and talent between the two sides.
Khalifa University is a top-tier higher education institution in the UAE, ranking 177th in the 2026 QS World University Rankings. This visit marked the first university-level delegation from Beihang to Khalifa University, signifying a new stage in cooperation between the two institutions. The delegation also included representatives from the International Relations Department, the Research Institute of Aero-Engine, and faculty members.
