On the morning of February 12, as the Chinese New Year approaches, the "Galloping Toward the Future" Spring Festival Reunion Banquet was held at the Xueyuan Road Campus and the Hangzhou International Campus.

At the North District Canteen of the Xueyuan Road Campus, more than 300 participants gathered to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The attendees included President Wang Yunpeng, Deputy Party Secretary Liu Shuchun, Vice Presidents Deng Yi and Yan Xiaojun, along with leaders and teachers from various departments and schools, students staying on campus during the winter holiday, and representatives of the frontline logistics staff.

The event kicked off with the "New Year Flavor Street". Teachers and students collected Fu (meaning good luck in Chinese) characters and jointly pieced together a Fu painting on the main display board. They posed for photos in front of the photo backdrop, faces beaming with joy, and held hefty gift bags filled with anticipation and hope for the new year.

With deft hands, participants cut paper into auspicious New Year patterns, wielded brushes to write down their wishes for the Year of the Horse, painted blessing symbols and stamped horse motifs. Every stroke and color carried beautiful expectations, making the Spring Festival tangible through their fingertips.

With chopping boards laid out, everyone was fully immersed in the New Year atmosphere. Teachers and students worked together to roll dumpling wrappers, fill them with stuffing, and pinch the edges, wrapping the warmth of Beihang and blessings for the New Year into each plump dumpling. Amid the steaming warmth, a unique sense of reunion warmed the Beihang community.

International students from all over the world experienced these traditional New Year customs, enjoying an authentic Chinese New Year amid the laughter and joy.

During the reunion banquet, President Wang Yunpeng delivered a Chinese New Year address, expressing earnest hopes and aspirations for the Year of the Horse.

"As we gather in this vibrant early spring to celebrate the Chinese New Year, our hearts are filled with joy," Wang said. On behalf of the university, he extended festive greetings and blessings to all faculty, staff, and students.

Wang noted that 2025 is a pivotal year, marking the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the preparation for the 15th Five-Year Plan. Over the past year, Beihang has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its second, third, and fourth plenary sessions. The university has upheld the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, promoted the integrated development of education, technology, and talent, and accelerated the advancement of academic disciplines. The quality of education and teaching has been comprehensively improved, with a series of landmark high-level research achievements accomplished. A sound talent echelon has taken initial shape, the global "circle of friends" has continued to expand, and the campus has become a more vibrant and welcoming place for study and life. The university's comprehensive academic strength has remained firmly among the top tier of domestic universities.

"These accomplishments would not have been possible without the hard work and unremitting efforts of all faculty, staff, and students." On behalf of the university, Wang expressed his highest respect and heartfelt gratitude to every member of the Beihang community. He extended special blessings to the 1,354 students staying on campus during the holiday and the staff members who remained at their posts, conveying the warmth and care of the Beihang family.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Year of the Horse, Wang drew on the symbolic meaning of the horse in traditional Chinese culture—diligence and aspiration—to share his hopes. He encouraged everyone to maintain unrelenting momentum, stay true to the original aspiration of serving the nation through aerospace endeavors, bravely shoulder the responsibilities of the times, and continue to write a new chapter in the university's high-quality development. He wished all Beihang faculty, students, and staff good health, family happiness, and a bright future ahead!

Wonderful performances were staged one after another, igniting enthusiasm both on and off the stage. Traditional folk music heralded the New Year's joy, lively dances reflected youthful vitality, and interactive games drew waves of laughter and cheer.

The Hangzhou International Campus was also immersed in the New Year cheer. The reunion banquet was held in a warm atmosphere at the North District Canteen, where teachers and students gathered to celebrate the festival. Some shaped dumplings into crescent folds, while others dipped brushes in ink to write their first wishes of the new year. As melodies echoed through the air, people from different corners of the world sat together, singing the same song of reunion and wishing for the same dreams.
