President Wang Yunpeng delivered the 2026 University Work Report on behalf of the university, titled "Deepening Reforms, Integrating Development: Forging Beihang's Path to a World-Class University with Chinese Characteristics." Wang Yunpeng delivers the report
The report noted that throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the entire university community has embraced the new development stage, implemented new development concepts, and actively integrated into the new development paradigm. Beihang's key institutional performance indicators have consistently ranked among the top tier of domestic universities, laying a solid foundation for firmly establishing itself among the world's top universities and striving toward the forefront of global higher education.
"Serving national strategic needs is an inherent responsibility of a world-class university," Wang Yunpeng stated. Benchmarking against world-class institutions, the report thoroughly analyzed the shortcomings and weaknesses that must be addressed as Beihang advances toward joining the ranks of world-class universities and competing at the forefront. It underscored the necessity of a three-pronged approach: addressing shortcomings through organized efforts to enhance academic leadership, leveraging existing strengths to systematically improve the capacity to serve national imperatives, and fostering new growth areas to strengthen the entire chain of technology transfer. By deepening reforms across all sectors, Beihang aims to forge a distinctive "Beihang Path" to becoming a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
Wang Yunpeng declared 2026 as Beihang's "Year of Deepening Reform." He called upon all faculty, staff, and students to anchor their efforts on the strategic goal of entering the ranks of world-class universities, demonstrating Beihang's commitment to accelerating the development of a leading nation in education, science and technology, and human resources.

Zhao Changlu delivers a concluding speech
Zhao Changlu pointed out that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It is also a crucial year for the university to plan the new round of "Double First-Class" initiative and accelerate its progress toward building a world-class university. He put forward three requirements for the implementation of key tasks in 2026: first, uphold and strengthen the overall leadership of the Party, and advance the development of a world-class university from a high-level perspective; second, stay focused on priorities, pursue systematic integration and practical results to promote a systematic leap in educational capabilities; third, strive for excellence through practical action, and earnestly implement all tasks with fine work style.
Zhao Changlu stressed that turning the vision of a world-class university into reality requires a sound and upright political environment as a guarantee. It is essential to fulfill the political responsibilities, and advance the full and rigorous governance over the Party with higher standards and more concrete measures.
In the new year, Zhao Changlu called upon the entire university community to firm up confidence, maintain high morale, and ensure a successful start to the university's 15th Five-Year Plan through dedicated and practical efforts. He urged the university to accelerate the development towards a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, and make greater contributions to building a strong nation and realizing national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization.
