To mark the 116th International Women's Day, Beihang University has launched a series of activities to celebrate the achievements and promote the well-being and cultural enrichment of its female faculty and staff members.

The newly elected 14th Female Faculty and Staff Committee held its first plenary meeting. The session focused on theoretical study and ideological guidance, featuring a thematic reading and discussion session. The meeting was chaired by Academician Su Donglin, Director of the Female Faculty and Staff Committee. At the meeting, Academician Su shared her thoughts, expressing that female faculty and staff at Beihang should balance family responsibilities with the missions of serving the nation through aerospace endeavors and strengthening the country through science and technology, and integrate personal aspirations into the development of the university and the nation. Representatives of the committee members also shared their insights based on their learning experiences and actual work responsibilities.

Since March, the University Trade Union, in collaboration with the School of New Media Art and Design, has launched a series of offline hands-on experience activities themed "The Charm of Spring: Intangible Cultural Heritage Handicrafts" to appreciate the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. The series aimed to enrich the cultural life of female faculty and staff, covering several classic intangible cultural heritage experiences such as Song-style brocade making and pyrography on silk. Through hands-on creation, participants appreciated the charm of traditional techniques and carried forward Chinese cultural heritage.

A professional image and clothing styling salon themed "Transforming Everyday Looks, Refreshing Professional Image" was also held. The invited instructor lectured on professional image management for women, explaining techniques related to style theory, body types, color coordination, and workplace etiquette. A live makeover session was conducted, with the instructor explaining matching skills and interactive Q&A sessions creating an enthusiastic atmosphere.

The sixth installment of the "Health Booster" expert lecture series focused on thyroid wellness, drawing over one hundred female faculty and staff members. The specialized health talk provided professional guidance on maintaining thyroid health, followed by one-on-one consultation sessions. This thoughtful initiative underscores the university's commitment to safeguarding the physical health and well-being of its female community members.

"Colors of Spring," a themed handicraft exhibition, displayed an exquisite collection of artistic works. Each piece masterfully blended the beauty of intangible cultural heritage with the wisdom and artistry of female creators, demonstrating the remarkable talent flourishing within the Beihang community.

In the lead-up to International Women's Day, the Retirement Affairs Office organized home visits to senior retired female faculty members. During these warm encounters, the visitors engaged in heartfelt conversations, inquired about their well-being, and extended festive greetings alongside thoughtful gifts, delivering the university's sincere care directly to their doorsteps.

Across the university, schools and departments also hosted a variety of independently organized activities—ranging from creative workshops to wellness initiatives—ensuring that the spirit of appreciation and inclusion reached every corner of the campus community.
