On the afternoon of March 11, the "Face-to-Face with the President, Growing Together in Heart-to-Heart Talks" series of exchange sessions was held at the Wings Café on the Shahe Campus. President Wang Yunpeng held an in-depth discussion with 12 freshman representatives from Beihang School, focusing on their academic development. Vice Presidents Deng Yi and Wu Jianghao attended the session.

The participating students spoke in turn, sharing their personal experiences and insights on topics such as academic adaptation, coursework, major selection, and physical and mental development.

Wei Yurui, Zhang Yongjiang, and Li Yilin shared their journey of gradually adapting to the course pace, expressing their firm confidence in proactively tackling academic challenges. Wang Xiwen and Liu Aohan mentioned further optimizing their time management to enhance daily academic engagement and classroom focus. Zhang Peibin shared his current learning status and phased plans, emphasizing the importance of steady progress and gradually developing good study habits. Sun Jingpeng and Ma Ting put forward suggestions for optimizing course assessment methods based on their actual experiences in English classes. Huang Hongxin shared his process of actively adjusting his physical and mental state, expressing his commitment to engaging more enthusiastically in daily studies and classwork. Song Wannuo offered reflections and suggestions on the coherence between mathematics courses. Yu Zirui and Yang Jiaxin shared their thoughts on major learning and their outlook on future major selections.

During the discussion, Wang Yunpeng listened carefully to each student and asked in detail about their learning experiences and feelings, while extensively soliciting their opinions and suggestions. "It has been more than a week since the start of this semester. How do you feel? Are there any difficulties? Do you have any better suggestions on the current curriculum and assessment methods?" After gaining a detailed understanding of each student's academic progress, living conditions, and future plans, he fully affirmed their growth and achievements. 

He pointed out that the university has consistently adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and has comprehensively promoted talent cultivation reforms, steadily enhancing the effectiveness of talent development. The university will further optimize talent cultivation programs, create a positive atmosphere for learning and research, and strive to build a comprehensive, multi-layered education platform to support students' growth and success.

Wang Yunpeng expressed sincere hopes for the students. First, strengthen self-confidence in development and bravely overcome difficulties. No matter how tough the challenges they encounter in their studies and lives, they must always maintain an optimistic and positive spirit. Second, optimize methods and approaches to enhance learning effectiveness. They should strengthen their awareness of active learning, and truly achieve mastery and apply what they have learned. Third, strengthen systematic planning and strive for comprehensive development. They should make full use of the university's rich resource platforms to organically combine theoretical learning with practical exercises, and achieve well-rounded development in "morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor education."

Wang Yunpeng emphasized that all relevant university departments and colleges should fully collaborate, conduct in-depth research and analysis, systematically optimize the supply of teaching resources, coordinate and optimize curriculum design, precisely strengthen academic support, promote full interaction between teaching and learning, and solve the difficulties students encounter in their growth. They should implement the "one-person-one-policy" approach at every stage of students' development, creating more opportunities and providing a more solid and comprehensive guarantee for every student's growth.
