As the spring breeze swept across the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University, the 2026 Mois de la Francophonie (Francophonie Month) was in full swing. The French teaching team, composed of teachers and teaching assistants from the French Group of the General Education Department at the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute, cultivated a rich French-learning environment, with the charm of the French language spreading throughout the campus.
From cross-cultural board games and poetic literature to classic audio-visual works and national competitions, the French teaching team has worked closely with various student clubs to co-write unforgettable spring campus memories filled with the allure of French.

Bonding Through Culture: A Journey of Mutual Growth
· French Board Games: Friends from Afar
On March 3, over 30 French preparatory students visited Beihang Hangzhou International Campus for academic exchanges under the "YES Program." The French teaching team, in collaboration with the Strategy Club, held a French board game exchange event. Through classic games such as Dixit, it built a relaxed and open environment for language practice. During the activity, Chinese and French students formed teams, and communicated with authentic expressions and tacit cooperation, turning the timeless wisdom "Is it not a joy to have friends coming from afar?" into the most vivid cross-cultural dialogue of the spring.

· French Literature: Poetry and Imagination
On March 26, the French teaching team, together with the Student Reading Interest Group, hosted a literary event titled "Meeting in French: Short Phrases, Poetry and Imagination," which attracted a large number of teachers and students. Through the cut-and-paste poetry session and quote interpretation session, teachers and students deeply experienced the linguistic beauty and literary warmth of the French language.

· French Musicals: From Appreciation to Performance
During Francophonie Month, the French teaching team and the Broadway Drama Club organized a screening of the stage version of the French musical The Little Prince. As the beloved fairy tale met touching melodies, the philosophical reflections on love, loneliness and growth from the original novel were revitalized on stage. This integrated experience of music, theater and literature deepened students' understanding of French culture, taking language learning beyond textbooks into a broader artistic realm.

· French Movie Night: Women's Power in Aerospace
The March French Movie Night featured the film Hidden Figures (Les Figures de L'Ombre), which tells the story of three outstanding women's struggles and contributions to the aerospace industry, showcasing female wisdom and courage. As teachers and students gathered, barriers between language and culture quietly faded, with film serving as a bridge connecting everyone.

Learning Through Competition: A Commitment to Excellence
· Winning National First Prize in Quiz Francophonie
As a centerpiece of Francophonie Month, the fourth Quiz Francophonie was held with the theme "Creations, Inventions, and Innovations in French-speaking Countries and Territories." Co-organized by the French Cultural Center and the Alliance Française in China, the online competition featured 20 questions spanning geography, history, technology, and contemporary culture, testing participants' breadth of knowledge, bilingual listening skills, and quick thinking. Wang Xiaoyu, a 2024 undergraduate from the Zhongfa Aviation Institute, stood out among over 400 contestants and won the National First Prize in the competition.

· Honored with Second Prize and Best Popularity Award in French Song Contest (Zhejiang Region)
At the French Song Contest, ten contestants took the stage to deliver captivating performances in various styles. After comprehensive evaluation, Tang Jing, a 2025 undergraduate from the Zhongfa Aviation Institute, won Second Prize in the Zhejiang Region, as well as the Best Popularity Award, with her moving rendition of the song Chiens.

· Aiming for New Glory in the Upcoming French Dubbing Competition
Last year, the Beihang French dubbing team represented the university at the National French Dubbing Competition, winning third prize. This year, with support from the General Education Department, the team has officially established a French Dubbing Club and once again advanced to the national finals. We eagerly await the club members' performance on the national final stage in May, as they continue to write a new chapter of honor for Beihang students.

The Francophonie Month 2026 series is not only a romantic cultural rendezvous but also a vivid demonstration of the Hangzhou International Campus's commitment to international talent development. Guided by the principle of "high standard, innovative mechanism, and international cooperation," the campus continuously integrates language teaching with cultural education. By building diverse platforms for practice, it is forging a distinctive path of talent development, enabling more students to open their global horizons through multilingual learning and cross-cultural exchange, and to shine on broader world stages.
