At the Longgang Cup · Inaugural National University Badminton Invitational 2026 on May 10, the badminton team of Beihang University clinched the championship in the mixed team event.

The competition gathered national-level players, active professional players, and even national team members competing alongside top university players. Against such strong rivals, Beihang secured the hard-fought championship. Olympic champion Cai Yun and world champion Xia Xuanze attended the opening and award ceremonies, testifying to the high standard of the event.

Beihang players demonstrated solid strength from the very start. In the group stage, the team faced Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, and Zhejiang University. With steady play and tacit coordination, Beihang finished first in the group with a clean sweep and advanced to the knockout stage.

In the quarter-final, Beihang defeated Team B of Shanghai University of Sport 3-1. In the semi-final against Team A of Shanghai University of Sport with active professional players, Beihang showed great momentum. Yuan Conghao / Li Lewei, Gao Yuxuan, and Wang Yaqi notched three straight wins, securing a dominant 3-0 victory and advancing to the final.

In the final, the mixed doubles pair Yuan Conghao / Li Lewei, men's doubles pair Tang Shukai / Liu Jinzhen, and women's doubles pair Hu Yitian / Lu Siliu contributed three wins, leading Beihang to a 3-2 victory over Central South University. The team proudly lifted the championship trophy, the highest honor of the event.

The team was coached by Fu Qingrong and Fan Qiuyue. All team members fought tenaciously to achieve the outstanding team championship. Looking ahead, the team will strive to reach new heights in this year's Beijing University Badminton Individual Championships and National University Badminton Championships.
