Beihang faculty honored at 4th National Innovation Pioneer Award ceremony

On May 30, China's 10th National Science and Technology Workers' Day, the 4th National Innovation Pioneer Award ceremony was held in Beijing. Several faculty members from Beihang University received top honors.

Professor Tian Daxin from the School of Transportation Science and Engineering was awarded the Medal of the National Innovation Pioneer Award. Professors Cao Xianbin from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Yang Shichun from the School of Transportation Science and Engineering, and Tao Fei from the International Institute for Interdisciplinary and Frontiers received the Certificate of the National Innovation Pioneer Award.

In addition, a research team focused on major strategic consultations for the Sansha region— which includes core members Wang Huaming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yao Yangping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Jianwei, Professor of the School of Cyber Science and Technology, and Zhao Wen, a teacher from the Institute of Science and Technology— was honored with the Medal of the National Innovation Pioneer Award.

Established in 2017 with central government approval, the National Innovation Pioneer Award is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

The Award aims to recognize outstanding researchers and teams for exceptional contributions in basic research, frontier exploration, major equipment development and engineering breakthroughs, technology transfer and innovation-driven entrepreneurship, as well as science popularization and social services.
