On the morning of June 16, the 2026 Commencement and Degree Conferral Ceremony of Beihang University was grandly held at the stadium of the Xueyuan Road Campus. A total of 4,030 undergraduate students, 4,690 master's students, and 1,379 doctoral students successfully completed their studies and embarked on a new chapter.

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the CPC Beihang University Committee Zhao Changlu, President Wang Yunpeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Shuchun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Liu Hongcang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Cheng Bo, Vice Presidents Lyu Weifeng, Zhao Weisheng, Lyu Jinhu, Deng Yi, Wu Jianghao, and Yan Xiaojun, faculty representatives, alumni representative Chen Minkang, Degree Evaluation Committee members, heads of various schools and administrative departments, advisors of graduating classes, and thousands of students' parents. The ceremony was presided over by Wu Jianghao.

The ceremony officially commenced with the solemn national anthem. Wu Jianghao announced the decision on degree conferral for the 2026 graduates. Liu Shuchun announced the list of "2026 Outstanding Graduates of Beijing", and Liu Hongcang announced the list of the "National Defense Revitalization Employment Scholarship". Zhao Changlu and Wang Yunpeng presented certificates to the representatives of awardees. The Department of Academic Affairs and the Graduate School handed over the alumni roster to the Alumni Association.

Xu Jiatong, undergraduate representative from the School of Transportation Science and Engineering, recalled her journey of pursuing studies at Beihang — accumulating strength through steadfast perseverance, honing a sense of responsibility through innovation and breakthrough, and bravely shouldering missions amid the tides of the times. She encouraged her fellow students to carry forward their devotion to the motherland and shine brightly on the journey of building a powerful nation.

Yuan Haonan, postgraduate representative from the School of Computer Science, shared his transformation from academic pursuit to personal growth. He expressed gratitude to Beihang for cultivating a fertile ground for scientific research and building a platform for youth to thrive. He encouraged students to explore the unknown through inquiry, fulfill their missions through practice, and rally strength through service, writing a new chapter worthy of their youth.

Guo Lin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of the School of Chemistry offered words of encouragement as faculty representative to the graduates. He urged them to dedicate themselves to the nation and fulfill their missions in the journey of the times; to uphold the essence of academic pursuit and forge ahead steadily through persistent dedication; and to expand the frontiers of innovation and contribute to technological leaps through pioneering exploration, thereby fueling China's high-quality scientific and technological development.

Alumnus representative Chen Minkang, Chief Commander of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT), fondly recalled his growth at Beihang. He encouraged students to stay true to their original aspirations, closely aligning personal ideals with the needs of the nation; to dare to be pioneers and embrace innovation, forging their capabilities through overcoming challenges; and to remain rigorous, pragmatic, and persistent, excelling in ordinary posts while reaching for the stars and beyond.

Starting from the concept of "root", President Wang Yunpeng warmly offered guidance to all 2026 graduates, pointing the way forward for the young talent. First, stay true to the root of being human, safeguarding the unique warmth and character of humanity. Second, pursue the root of knowledge, delving deep into foundational disciplines with persistent curiosity. Third, anchor the root of career, calibrating their personal directions in alignment with the trend of the times.

"You are in the prime of your lives — the most vibrant and promising years," Wang Yunpeng said, extending his earnest expectations to all graduates with hopeful words. He encouraged every graduate to embark on their journeys with the spirit of "Serving the Nation through Aerospace Endeavors", and vigorously write a glorious chapter of Beihang students.

"Beihang will always be your warm harbor and strong backing. Your alma mater will always watch over your growth and welcome you back home!"

Following the ceremony, the 2026 Degree Conferral Ceremony was held in the gymnasium. University and school leaders turned the tassels for the graduates, conferred degree certificates, and posed for commemorative photos, extending their best wishes to them.

Before the ceremony, faculty and student representatives presented a medley of songs.

Parents witnessed the precious moments in their children's growth, expressing gratitude to the university and conveying love and blessings to their children.

At the end of the ceremony, all teachers and students sang the university anthem "Look Up at the Starry Sky," bringing the atmosphere to a climax. As the graduates step forward with the earnest expectations of their alma mater, they stand ready to answer the call of the times and head toward their bright future.
