Clarivate has released its 2025 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a globally recognized benchmark that evaluates academic journals using key metrics including the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and the Journal Citation Indicator (JCI). The latest data shows that Beihang University's journals have made notable progress in academic influence and international recognition.
Among the three SCI-indexed journals published by Beihang University, all maintained their positions in the top quartile (Q1) of their respective categories, with each ranking among the top 10% globally. The 2025 Impact Factors for these journals are: Propulsion and Power Research at 6.7, Chinese Journal of Aeronautics at 6.9, and Frontiers of Computer Science at 7.3. These results underscore Beihang's strong scholarly leadership in its core disciplines of aerospace engineering and computer science.
Two Beihang-sponsored journals received their first Impact Factors this year, marking significant milestones. Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware debuted with an Impact Factor of 6.1, securing a Q1 ranking. Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices achieved a 4.5 Impact Factor, placing it in Q2. These successes highlight the university's effective nurturing of emerging interdisciplinary journals.
Additionally, Guidance, Navigation and Control, a journal affiliated with Beihang and published by the Guidance, Navigation and Control Division of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, continues to develop steadily, with its Impact Factor ranking in Q3 of its category.
Several international journals with Beihang faculty serving as founding editors-in-chief—including Cognitive Semantics, Mathematics in Computer Science, and the International Journal of Modeling, Simulation and Scientific Computing—continued to maintain consistent citation metrics and high-quality academic publishing standards.
In recent years, Beihang has intensified its efforts to develop a robust scientific journal portfolio, leveraging its disciplinary strengths while launching new titles and enhancing the international reach of its publications. Looking ahead, the university will continue to develop premium journals, amplify their global academic influence, and support its "Double First-Class" initiative and the sustained high-quality growth of its disciplines.
