Beihang claims overall team title at 46th Capital Colleges Swimming Championships

The 46th Capital Colleges Swimming Championships, hosted by the Federation of University Sports of Beijing, was recently held at the Natatorium of Beijing University of Technology. Led by Coach Dong Xulei from the Department of Sports, 12 Beihang students competed in 21 events, including 18 individual events and 3 relay events. The swimmers were divided into Group A1, Group A2, and Group B for both men and women. Among them, two Beihang swimmers competed in Group A1 and ten in Group B.

In individual events, Zhao Furui won the men's 50m butterfly and 100m butterfly, breaking the meet records in both events. Qin Lianhan claimed silver in the women's 100m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m breaststroke. Fan Fenglin took silver in the women's 100m freestyle and ranked 5th in the 50m freestyle. Ai Sihan claimed bronze in the men's 200m freestyle and finished 5th in the 100m backstroke. Lu Xiaoke placed 4th in the women's 100m freestyle and 5th in the 200m freestyle. Huang Chenke ranked 5th in the women's 100m butterfly. Batbayer Enkhbileg placed 5th in the men's Group A1 100m freestyle and 7th in the 50m freestyle. Peng Shen finished 7th in the men's 50m freestyle. Zhang Yufan placed 7th in the men's 100m freestyle.

In relay events, the women's 4×50m freestyle relay won the championship and set a new meet record. The mixed 4×50m medley relay also claimed gold, while the men's 4×50m freestyle relay took silver. Ultimately, Beihang secured the overall team championship, along with second place in the women's team standings and third place in the men's team standings.

The competition drew 380 athletes from 39 universities in Beijing. Events included the 50m, 100m, and 200m individual races in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle, as well as the 200m individual medley, 4×100m freestyle relay, and medley relay (Group A), men's and women's 4×50m freestyle relays (Group B), and mixed 4×50m medley relay (Group B).
