On August 28, Beihang University welcomed 4,168 new undergraduate students and 139 international undergraduates to its Xueyuan Road Campus and Shahe Campus in Beijing, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their academic journeys. An additional 773 undergraduate students will register at the Hangzhou International Campus on August 30.

"Welcome to the Beihang family," said Party Secretary Zhao Changlu and President Wang Yunpeng as they toured the orientation sites and freshman dormitories. They engaged warmly with students and families, extended birthday gifts to those celebrating their special day, and presented care packages to students applying through the "Green Channel" financial aid program. They also commended staff and volunteers for their dedication.

"Every student will be nurtured with the utmost care and commitment," the leaders emphasized. They inquired about students' hometowns and majors, encouraging them to leverage Beihang's premier academic and research resources, plan their studies with clear goals, embrace interdisciplinary learning, and develop resilience through challenges—ultimately growing into well-rounded contributors to socialist modernization. Vice Party Secretary Cheng Bo, Vice Presidents Deng Yi and Wu Jianghao also attended the events.

The orientation sites buzzed with energy and creativity. Each college and school showcased its unique identity through thoughtfully designed booths, interactive experiences, and lively mascots. These engaging displays immersed new students in Beihang's distinctive culture of "aerospace patriotism" while sparking excitement for the university life ahead.

Students eagerly signed their names on commemorative walls and posed for photos with family members, capturing the cherished moments of their first day on campus. The university simultaneously launched the parent seminar series, building bridges between families and the institution while strengthening collaborative education frameworks.

Beihang's digital platform, "Smart Beihang," introduced a streamlined "One-Stop Orientation" digital checklist, consolidating all registration procedures into a clear, manageable task list. The AI-powered "Orientation Navigator" offered innovative features including real-time Q&A services, a "Cloud Group Photo" function for digital keepsakes, and a virtual "Campus Walk" tool that allowed students to explore facilities and plan routes before arrival.

This year's orientation was designed with a student-centered approach, prioritizing safety, warmth, efficiency, and orderliness. Campus-specific plans with weather contingency measures were implemented, while the digital platform simplified registration processes. Operational efficiency was enhanced through centralized railway station pickups, simplified entry procedures, and one-stop on-site service windows. The university also demonstrated its commitment to student well-being by opening campus facilities, optimizing dining services, setting up parent rest areas, and providing care packages through the "Green Channel," birthday-exclusive blessings, and one-on-one volunteer support.

The welcoming atmosphere extended to every corner of the campus, as the Beijing Air and Space Museum and University History Museum welcomed numerous visitors. Families explored exhibits tracing Beihang's developmental journey, making tangible the legacy of aerospace patriotism that has defined the institution for generations.
