Beihang University has welcomed 9,022 new graduate students to its 2026 cohort across three campuses in Beijing and Hangzhou.

This year's orientation was held at the Gymnasium of the Xueyuan Road Campus, the Century Sound Square on the Shahe Campus, and the Gymnasium of the Hangzhou International Campus. The Hangzhou International Campus completed its registration on August 31.

On September 3, Party Secretary Zhao Changlu and President Wang Yunpeng visited the orientation sites on both Beijing campuses, toured student dormitories, and inspected the orientation arrangements and living conditions. They engaged with staff and student volunteers and held cordial conversations with new students, extending a warm welcome to the 2026 cohort.

During the visits, the university leaders took a keen interest in the students' academic backgrounds and research aspirations, encouraging them to make full use of Beihang's world-class research and educational platforms. They urged the newcomers to broaden their intellectual horizons through engagement with real-world applications, to hone their independent research capabilities, and to strive for excellence and grow into high-caliber innovative talents capable of shouldering the responsibilities of the new era.

Guided by a student-centered approach, the graduate orientation process prioritized safety, warmth, meticulousness, and orderliness. Campus-specific plans with weather contingency measures were implemented, while the digital platform simplified registration processes. Operational efficiency was enhanced through centralized railway station pickups, simplified entry procedures, and one-stop on-site service windows. The university also demonstrated its commitment to student well-being by opening campus facilities, optimizing dining services, setting up parent rest areas, and providing care packages through the "Green Channel,"  birthday greetings, and one-on-one volunteer support.

The welcoming atmosphere extended to every corner of the campus, as the Beijing Air and Space Museum and University History Museum welcomed numerous visitors. Families explored exhibits tracing Beihang's developmental journey, making tangible the legacy of aerospace patriotism that has defined the institution for generations.

Schools and colleges across the university organized a diverse array of welcome activities that reflected their academic strengths and cultural heritage. New students interacted with college mascots, posed for photos at themed display boards, and received exclusive orientation souvenirs, experiencing campus culture through a rich sense of ceremony and belonging.

Carrying forward the Beihang spirit of "serving the nation through aerospace endeavors," the new graduate students embark on their journey of research and exploration. They will align their personal research aspirations with the nation's major strategic needs, writing a vibrant new chapter in the Beihang story for the new era.
