Wang Yunpeng has been appointed Secretary of the CPC Beihang University Committee, replacing Zhao Changlu, who no longer holds the position.

The appointment was approved recently by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and announced at a meeting held at Beihang University on September 30.

The decision was announced by a responsible official of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. Xie Yuansheng, a member of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Li Chenglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Zhao Changlu presided over the meeting.

Wang Yunpeng, born in December 1966, holds a doctoral degree in engineering. He is a professor and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

He has previously served as Vice President of Beihang University, and President (vice-ministerial level) and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beihang University Committee.
