On May 12, a delegation from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, visited Beihang University. The delegation included Alberto Sapora, Vice Rector for International Affairs; Alessandro Vigliani, Co-Director (Engineering Area) of the China Center; and Marco Begani, Regional Manager for China.
Beihang Vice President Zhao Weisheng met with the guests at the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering. Representatives from the International Relations Department, School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Future Aerospace Technology, and School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering also attended the meeting.

Zhao Weisheng warmly welcomed the delegation, noting that Politecnico di Torino is a key partner of Beihang. He highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the two universities in talent cultivation and scientific research. Looking ahead, he expressed hopes for strengthened collaboration in areas such as student exchange, dual-degree programs, and joint laboratories—especially in fields like electronics, aerospace, automation, energy, and computer science. He also emphasized the role of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute in supporting future cooperative initiatives.
Alberto Sapora thanked Beihang for its hospitality and acknowledged the solid foundation of collaboration between the two universities. He noted the vast potential for collaboration in shared disciplines such as electronics, aerospace, automation, energy, and computer science. He hoped the visit would deepen the partnership and expand joint efforts in international talent development, bilateral academic conferences, and laboratory co-construction, taking the cooperation to a new level.

During the visit,the two sides held a faculty seminar to explore avenues for deepening collaboration in key disciplines. Representatives from Beihang’s schools introduced their research strengths and explored opportunities for joint projects, student exchanges, dual-degree programs, and faculty collaboration. Both sides reached a consensus on expanding cooperation in these areas.
Before the seminar, the delegation also toured the Center of Micro-Nano Innovation at Beihang.
Founded in 1859, Politecnico di Torino is the oldest polytechnic university in Italy. It consists of 11 departments, with a student body of approximately 38,700 and more than 1,000 faculty members. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, it is ranked 241st globally. Since establishing a partnership in 2010, Beihang and Politecnico di Torino have engaged in productive collaboration in materials science, electronics, automation, energy, and aerospace, covering student exchanges, dual-degree programs, and joint research initiatives.
