Abstract:
In this presentation, Prof. Gola will give a general presentation of AERMEC research capabilities in dry-friction damping and underplatform dampers, and introduce PCR which greatly reduces the complexity of damper/blade matching. The presentation will introduce the main AERMEC test rigs, the numerical results against experimental results, the damper pre-optimization maps and a contact represented method. The presentation will introduce principle and realistic coupled optimization of PCR.
About the Speaker:
Muzio M. Gola, an Honorary Professor of Polytechnic University of Turin (Politecnico di Torino), Italy, is a specialist of stress analysis, strength and criteria of machines, machine and structure mechanics and vibrations. He is also the founder of the AERMEC (AERoMEChanics: turbine and compressor components) laboratory at the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Since 1972, he has authored more than 250 scientific publications. His main research interests include contact mechanics, friction damping, vibration and damping of turbine bladed discs, joint mechanics.
