On June 17th, 2013, the authoritative international journal Physical Review Letters published a research paper entitled “Study of e+e-→π+π-J/ψ and observation of a charged charmoniumlike state at Belle”, a collaborative study by researchers from the School of Physics in Beihang University and the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The research results have received hot reports from Nature, Physical Review Letters and other magazines. On June 18th, a news report entitled “Quark quartet opens fresh vista on matter” was released in Nature. In addition, the editors of Physics Review Letters made a special recommendation about the research results and invited Eric Swanson, a renowned Physicist Professor of the University of Pittsburgh, to give a comment with “New Particle Hints at Four-Quark Matter” as its title. Meanwhile, scientific websites such as Wired Science, Live Science, New Scientist and PHYS.ORG also published relevant scientific reports, saying the newly observed particle is a very exciting discovery.
