In 2012, scientists from the School of Chemistry reported in Advanced Materials an artificial nanofluidic diode system, which can mimick the light-gated and pH-tunable ion channels. Entitled “Light and pH Cooperative Nanofluidic Diode Using a Spiropyran‐Functionalized Single Nanochannel”, the article shed new light on the bionic nanochannels.
