National Engineering Laboratory of Additive Manufacturing for Large Metallic Components

In order to help consolidate China’s leading edge on additive manufacturing technology for large, high-performance metal components, an important measure of a country’s strength of industry and advanced key equipment manufacturing, the National Engineering Laboratory of Additive Manufacturing for Large Metallic Components is set up for research and development in the relevant fields, such as the additive manufacturing technologies of large metal components made of titanium alloy, alloy steels, high-temperature alloy, high strength aluminum, etc.

The lab is determined to become a world-class “technical innovation base”, “equipment research and development base”, “high-tech material development base”, “specialized personnel training base” and “technical service and achievement transformation base” for manufacturing high-performance large-scale metal components.

The above efforts are necessary for the development of the industrial chain from design, manufacturing, control, to test, as well as the escalation of related industrial structure, improving the core competitiveness and independent innovation of China.
