
Ren Zhang (1957,9—) is a professor and PhD supervisor of the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering of Beihang University. In 2001, Prof. Ren was elected as a distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program (in the discipline of guidance navigation and control).
Prof. Ren received his master’s and PhD degrees from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1985 and 1994 respectively. He was a visiting professor at University of California, Riverside from April 1999 to February 2000, and then Louisiana State University from March to December, 2000.
His main research areas include control theory and applications, aircraft guidance navigation and control. In recent years, he has taken charge of many research projects and produced many products which directly solved the key technical problems of our military equipment-typed projects and provided technical reserves for the development of new models, contributing greatly to the national defense equipment industry. What’s more, he has published two books and more than 300 papers.
