Sun Zhimei

Sun Zhimei (1970—) is a professor and PhD supervisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beihang University. She is a distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program and an awardee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.

Prof. Sun received her doctor's degree from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. After graduation, she did her research in RWTH Aachen University and Uppsala University from 2002 to 2007. From June 2007 to July 2013, she worked as a professor and PhD supervisor in Xiamen University. Since August 2013, she has been working at Beihang University.

The research interests of Prof. Sun are electronic structure calculations and molecular dynamics simulations for advanced materials. So far, Prof. Sun has published over 150 peer-reviewed SCI papers, including Phys. Rev. Lett., PNAS, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nano Letters, Nano Energy, Phys .Rev. B, Acta Mater, Appl. Phys. Lett., etc., and the citation of her published papers is over 3,700 times (by web of science) or over 4,700 times (by Google Scholar) by December 2017. She has been invited to present speeches or keynote speeches for over 20 times at important international conferences.
