Huai Jinpeng

Huai Jinpeng (1962.12—) is a professor and PhD supervisor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering of Beihang University, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (elected in 2009), and Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.

His other positions include member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Astronautics, and deputy to the 12th National People’s Congress.

As a software expert, Prof. Huai has long been engaging in the research on network software technology and system, making systematic and groundbreaking contributions to trusted sharing and allocation of network software and hardware resources, security protocol theories, application of automation tools for software development, etc. He solved the technical problems in the sharing and utilization of network resources, established the algebraic theory and algorithm of security protocol analysis, and brought up the model and method of software process development. He also studies web-service technologies and big data computing.

He has won a second prize of the State Technological Invention Award, two second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress and so on. In 2012, he was awarded the Legion of Honor (Chevalier).
