Liu Mingjie

Liu Mingjie (1982.11—) is a professor and PhD supervisor in the School of Chemistry, Beihang University. He is an awardee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the young chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program.

Prof. Liu graduated from the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctor’s degree in 2010. His research focuses on bio-inspired soft active materials. He brought up the design of a multi-phase order-structure polymer network, developed elastomers with high mechanical performance in complicated environment and has been exploring their applications in soft robots, wearable devices as well as drag and noise reduction.

Prof. Liu has published more than 50 papers in journals listed in the Science Citation Index, such as Nature, Nature Mater., Nature Rev. Mater., Nature Commun., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater. and so on. His work has been reported by many journals, professional institutions and online media.
