Beihang Student Wins Gold Medal in 2023 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” National Foreign Language Proficiency Competition for College Students

Beihang students nabbed multiple medals in the 2023 “FLTRP · ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” National Foreign Language Proficiency Competition for College Students (English Group) which came to an end recently. Among them, Fu Xinzhu, a student from the School of Foreign Languages, won the gold medal in the interpretation competition and became qualified for the International Comprehensive Communication Ability Competition. Yan Ziyi from the School of Economics and Management nabbed the silver award in the writing competition, while Wang Ruiheng from the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering attained the bronze award in the reading competition. Cai Yilin and Hong Minhao from the School of Foreign Languages won the silver and bronze awards in the translation competition respectively.

In the provincial competition of the English Group held in October, Beihang candidates also attained dazzling achievements. In addition to the five candidates who won the gold medal and advanced to the national competition, Su Roumei from the School of Foreign Languages, Chen Sirui from Beihang School and Wang Xiaoyu from the School of Electronic Information Engineering won the silver award in the writing competition. Chen Kexun from the School of Foreign Languages and Huang Ruoyan from the School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering won the silver prize in the reading competition. Liu Yunze from Beihang School won the bronze prize in the reading competition. Zhang Juncai from the School of Energy and Power Engineering and Zhou Tianbao from the School of Economics and Management won the silver award in the speech competition.

The “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” National Foreign Language Proficiency Competition for College Students is organized by Beijing Foreign Studies University and sponsored by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. As the first top English competition in China that has been selected into the competition list of college students by the China Association of Higher Education, the competition has attracted more than 1,300 universities and nearly one million students to participate in.
