Delegation from Copperbelt University Visits Beihang

On the afternoon of January 8, a delegation led by Professor Paul Chisale, Acting Vice Chancellor of the Copperbelt University in Zambia, visited Beihang University. Vice President Zhao Weisheng met with the guests in the conference room of the West Small Building on the Xueyuan Road Campus, accompanied by leaders from the International Relations Department, Department of Academic Affairs and other relevant departments.

Zhao Weisheng warmly welcomed Professor Paul Chisale and his delegation, and briefed the overall situation of Beihang University including its international exchange and cooperation. He stated that Beihang attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation, adheres to open education, and has achieved fruitful results in such areas as joint education programs, international talent cultivation, and international scientific research cooperation in recent years. Beihang University and Copperbelt University share similar advantageous disciplines, and are looking forward to further cooperation in student exchanges, faculty visits, and scientific research projects.

Paul Chisale expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from Beihang and introduced the basic situation of the Copperbelt University. He stated that both Beihang University and Copperbelt University are research-oriented universities specializing in engineering, and there is great partnership potential between the two universities. He hopes that through this visit, broader and deeper cooperation can be carried out between Copperbelt University and Beihang University and other Chinese universities in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration.

The delegation also visited the Beijing Air and Space Museum in Beihang University.

The Copperbelt University is a comprehensive university located in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Founded in 1987, it is one of the most important institutions of higher education in Zambia. The university offers a wide range of disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering technology, medicine, agriculture, etc., with 10 colleges and various professional schools and graduate schools. The university currently has over 10,000 students and more than 150 faculty members.
