Recently, the All-China Women's Federation announced the list of 2023 National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters, Red Flag Bearers, and Red Flag Collectives. Beihang Professor Zhao Huijie was honored with the title of National March 8th Red Flag Bearer.
Zhao Huijie, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Beihang University, and director of a key laboratory under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has always adhered to the mission of “cultivating qualified builders and reliable successors for the socialist cause,” and has made outstanding contributions in her field of work. In response to the national demand for talent in the field of "high-resolution Earth observation," Zhao established the undergraduate major of "Remote Sensing Science and Technology" at Beihang University. The first Remote Sensing class was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Outstanding Classes in Beijing," and in 2023, the major was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major. Professor Zhao has been successively awarded honors such as Outstanding Teacher of Beijing, Outstanding Graduate Supervisor, Beihang Distinction Award for Moral Education and Talent Cultivation, and Distinguished Teacher Award.
In order to improve the capability of spectral-structural detection in complex aerospace environments and achieve precise intelligent perception, Zhao Huijie began to engage in the study of intelligent perception in complex environments in 2020. She has made innovative breakthroughs in detecting new principles, new devices, comprehensive modeling of detection systems, and accuracy tracing, establishing China's first hyperspectral remote sensing data quality research tool and analysis system. She has won one second prize of National Technological Invention Award and four first prizes of provincial and ministerial-level awards as the first author. She is also a State Council's Special Allowance Expert and has been selected for the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education in China.
