On March 12, Zhao Changlu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beihang University, met with the delegation led by Wan Guangming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee, Mayor of Nanchang City, and a 1987 alumnus of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering. Lyu Jinhu, Vice President of Beihang University and Zhao Jie, Vice Mayor of Nanchang City also attended the meeting.
In his speech, Zhao Changlu extended a warm welcome to the delegation, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the governments of Jiangxi Province and Nanchang City for their long-term support to the university, voiced his sincere congratulations on the achievements made by Nanchang City in the economic and social development, and sent cordial greetings to the alumni who devoted themselves in Jiangxi Province. He then introduced major progress made by Beihang in such aspects as talent cultivation, scientific research and talent team construction in recent years. He noted that Beihang attaches great importance to the cooperation between the university and local governments, and there has been a good cooperation foundation between Beihang and Jiangxi Province and Nanchang City, which has promoted the deep integration between the university's high-level innovation resources and the local innovation chain and the industrial chain, and achieved remarkable results. In the future, Beihang will further optimize the layout on the basis of existing cooperation, increase the investment of advantageous intellectual resources in key directions, and contribute more to accelerating the development of new quality productive forces and promoting the construction of new industrialization.
Wan Guangming expressed his sincere gratitude to Beihang for its concern and support for the industrial development of Nanchang City, and congratulated Beihang for its outstanding achievements attained in recent years. He said that Nanchang City has a good industrial ecology and broad development prospects in electronic information, aviation and other industries, and the Jiangxi Research Institute of Beihang University is closely in line with Nanchang City's industrial characteristics and transformation needs, providing extensive support and gaining practical results. He hoped that Beihang will further utilize its advantages in talent cultivation and sci-tech innovation, closely combine the characteristics of Nanchang City's economic and social development and industrial structure, integrate resource characteristics, strengthen mechanism innovation, boost the transfer and transformation of sci-tech achievements, and form a good leading demonstration role. Nanchang Municipal Government will also give strong support, utilize its policy advantages and resource endowments to help Jiangxi Research Institute develop in a sustainable and high-quality manner, and promote more sci-tech achievements to take root and blossom in Jiangxi Province.
During the exchange session, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the construction of Jiangxi Research Institute, cooperation between the university and the locality, the layout of key directions, and the integration of industry, university and research.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Beihang University History Museum and the sci-tech achievements exhibition.
Relevant heads from Gaoxin District of Nanchang City, Science and Technology Bureau of Nanchang City, Beihang Party Committee Office, Institute of Science and Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, and Jiangxi Research Institute also attended the meeting.
